In late fall 2004, my mother asked us the yearly question we almost always had a hard time to answer: "What do you want
for Christmas?" But while she posed this question, in reality she had no intentions of passing on to Santa our hearts'
desires. No, she had a plan all her own. A wonderful, marvelous plan to whisk her entire family -- three daughters,
three sons-in-law, four grandchildren, mother and stepfather, and herself and her husband -- away to the Caribbean.
Yes, she had launched a plan beyond our wildest imaginations. We were all going on a luxurious week long cruise together
on the Carnival Triumph! Can you imagine a more thoughtful, generous gift than the gift of time spent together, sharing
smiles and making memories? No material item we could have found beneath the Christmas tree could have been better
than this.
Our cruise set sail on April 23, 2005 from Miami, bound for San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Along
the way we would enjoy a few days at sea, to relax, soak up some sun, enjoy icy cold cocktails, and swim in the
pools (there were four of them). We had a magnificent time. This site chronicles our adventures in words
and in pictures. We know it looks like we're having fun -- but it doesn't begin to describe it well enough.
Thank you, Mom and Bill, for such a wonderful gift and a time we'll never forget! You guys are amazing and we love
you!!!
